EIS Weekly Update – 5 October 17

Welcome to your weekly EIS Bulletin!

We appreciate how busy your inbox can become,  so EIS will only send out Support, Training & News messages every Thursday.

If there is something critical that our customers need to know immediately, we will of course send a message straightaway – that way you will know the EIS email needs urgent action.

Below we have summarised what is new this week… if you have any queries, please get in touch!

Capita Roadmap

EIS wrote to all schools in May 2017 concerning the end of Capita Children’s Services Limited support for SIMS/FMS on the
Microsoft Windows 2008 and 2008R2 Server operating system (Information Notice SIMS Technical Roadmap – Implications
for Schools and Academies. Secondary Schools 17-E052 and Primary/Special Schools 17-E051).  These documents are also
available on our support portal for customers.

We would like to remind customers that the deadline to be compliant with all SIMS/FMS databases using either Microsoft
Windows 2012R2 or 2016 is the end of 2018.  The Spring Release 2019 will not be tested against Server 2008 or 2008R2
nor supported by Capita Children’s Services Limited and therefore, any issues cannot be escalated to their support teams.

EIS is directly contacting all schools where we are aware of Windows 2008 servers hosting SIMS/FMS, but if you have not been
contacted please email us on support@eisit.uk
